Clattering sound on cold start up near timing belt/WP area.

I hear a clattering noise on start up that seems to be coming from the timing belt or WP or maybe ignition rotor area. When I press on the TB cover it worsens and if I move it back and forth it changes the intensity of the noise.

Im going to do the timing belt/ tensioner and WP. But whats causing that noise? Do I need a valve adjustment as well?

Bag of Cheetos to whoever gets it right?

edit. The noise abates drastically once it warms up and is running. That or I just can't hear it over the valves/engine music.
