What Bilstein strut do I have?

    It's supposedly an E30 M3 front strut
It does say "Made in Western Germany"

I need to get a replacement because I only have one front strut right now. So my question is, if it's an E30 M3 front strut, then what do I order, a front sport strut or front HD strut?

Does it not have a part number?

Nope. The only number it has is 0310132h13 which equates to nothing on google.

there is probably a sticker on the body of the shock insert, have you removed the insert or is this part number from the top of the insert body engraved?

I don't understand if you have an e30m3 front suspension/struts with the shock in it, or just the bare insert?

        this might help

My advice to you is to replace both strut inserts.. When you buy shoes do u just buy one or do you buy a pair.. You can get Bilstein sport shocks from Tirerack for a lil over $100 each..

Does it have a BMW roundel on it too. The fact that it says "made in Western Germany" makes me think it's an original factory strut. If so, you're not going to find anything valved correctly to match the one still on the car. I'd just bite the bullet and buy two new struts.

Nope, no sticker. And its the entire shock, not just the insert. From that thread it seems that the E30 M3's weren't equipped with Bilsteins stock.. :/

I'm keeping it on a budget and these shocks still have a lot of life left in them

Unfortunately no BMW roundel, but it still says made in western germany. Weird right?
I'll buy a pair when I definitely am unable to locate what model bilstein this is.

FWIW, I checked the struts that came out of my Euro 323i with factory Sports Suspension. It's hard to see in this pic but they have the Bilstein logo next to the roundel then "Made in Western Germany"

What do you mean nope? It says bilstein on it, I would call Bilstein directly and see if they can look it up for you.

I meant in regards to the Roundel. Yep I'll call them up, thanks!
