Differences in 325i and "ix" ????

    Hey guys,

Been looking around and just wondering what the differences in the 325 "is" and "ix" versions besides the obvious 4 wheel drive.

Do they both have 3.73 LSD's?
    Suspension Differences?
    Mechanical Differences?
    Transmission?
    Etc...

Thinking about grabbing an E30 for a turbo project and a 4 wheel drive M20 is very tempting.

I'll keep searching and looking myself as well.

    Thanks!

Seriously broheim you have a lot of reading to do. Definitely forget the IX idea. They're hard to find, there are tons of differences (whole front suspension/steering/subframe). Transfer cases are often bad and are very hard to find. Front driveshaft splines strip out. From the tranny back they are similar though, but they have 3.91lsd's (manual) and 4.10lsd (autos), but they're viscous not clutch type.

Seriously though a turbo IX is not something you want to own unless you have 2 parts IX's to go with it. RWD is more fun anyways.

Mostly lies. The suspension is different like he said, those are the correct diff ratios though. Obviously if the car has been beat on parts will be bad. You can find nice examples but they are hard to find. You just have to look harder. And parts are more expensive.

Well I'll be coming from an e34 M5... So anything has to be less expensive than that. ha
