im looking at a 1989 325 ix tomorrow to buy, any good tips on what to ask and what should i look for?? any good shopping tips, thanx

Things I would look for are:
- Receipts, was it cared for? What's been done? The key here is the preventative maintenance stuff. Regular oil changes, and shop visits are a good sign.
- If you have the means, bring it to a reputable close shop and have them do a pre-purcase inspection on it. Most importantly i'd want to get it on a lift and see if the drivetrain is solid and working 100%.
