Thanks lads. (They all laughed when Gallileo discovered that the earth was not flat) :nice:

It is true for stock dimension springs with not height adjustable seats..

A friend of mine was prepping a VW rabbit pick up(Caddy) for the small bore production record at the Bonneville salt flats.
This guy has been running there for years and is THE top dog in the 36HP beetle challenge.

he needed to drop the truck.

I donated a pair of Eibach progressive sport springs to the cause. These springs were for the A2 Golf Chassis.

we made a couple of lowering blocks to drop the back.
          back was nice and low.

We ignored the formula for cutting springs and cut the dead coils on the Eibachs.
The front was too high, so we started cutting a coil at a time.
We got to the height where the arrows on the shoulders of the tyre were just concealed by the wheel arches.
My bud thought we should take another coil off, so we did that, and reinstalled the struts....The nose went up 1.5".

If you have never cut springs, you would never know.

If you cut high poundage springs, you may raise the spring rate faster than you are decreasing the static spring height.

            Hello OP.

You may want to try the combo of drop-hats in front and adding a spring pad or two in the rear.

I would just like to bump this thread to show the pdxseth that daniel never had the rear acs valence. That pic was taken the day after he got the car, exactly as he got it from e34croak.

Lol I feel bad that car looks so good in those pics here's an update

I don't like saying I'm parting it out I think it sounds better If we say I'm puttin a new shell on it(so it has a clean title)
And I'm putting a 2.7 bottom end on it since the 2.5 is toast and as a bonus its getting early model tail lights, no more big ugly tailights

So if you couldn't drive it, how'd the exterior get so trashed? Or was it like that to begin with?
