5speed conversion kit from Barvarian Auto

Im looking to put a 5speed into my 87e 4dr auto. I have a 2.93ls and want to know which getrag model would best work for my auto to 5speed swap.

Has anyone purchased a 5speed converstion kit from barvarian auto recycling? I called them up and they claim to have a full kit for $750.00.

This is a great price if it includes everything needed. Am i misguided in this assumption?

Whats the word on the streets. hows the buisness they run? is it worth checking more into?

That diff is useless with a manual trans. no getrag that came on an M20 is worth driving on an I motor with a 2.93 diff. With your 325E I would suggest a 3.25 or a 3.46...
why not just buy a complete motor and trans from an I car? instant 50hp and it will make your car way more fun to drive.
    Just my 2 cents...

A 2.93 is not totally useless. A stock eta 5sp comes with a 2.93ls. I had one on my 2.7i which was pretty close to an m20b25 but with more torque. Of course I had longer gearing so 2nd was nice and long for auto-x without hitting the limiter. On the highway you could say 5th was pretty much a true overdrive but it's not as bad as it's made to seem. The car could still chirp going into 3rd unintentionally at times. My current eta is with a 2.93 open and it's not useless.

As to Bavarian, I have heard mixed reviews. I don't know if I am correct but I think they are a sponsor of this forum?

E9- difference of opinion I guess. I am used to high rev's. With my M3 having a 4.10LSD and my 535iS with a 3.73LSD I like the power to be there whenever I stomp the gas, and with short rear-ends like these, its always right there in the power-band.

Nobody wants to be rolling down the highway revving at 4850 in their eta man. The 2.93 is what the eta should come with since they have way less revs to work with. That being said if you want to spend 750 get the i engine and tranny. You are much better off with that idea

3:25 doesnt put you at red on the highway. A 3:93, or 4:10 would.

            Sold it.
