    Noob Intro

As the title states, I'm a noob and this is my intro.
I'm John from Oregon, been in performance for the last 10 years or so. The last 3-4 years I've been doing strictly BMW. I just recently acquired a bronzit/tan cab, 87. This is my first BMW, I figured I would start with the famous E30. One of my friends has a mint 86 white/black es, driven that a few times and thought "damn this is genuine good car. My cousin however has been collecting M's - M roadster, e36 M (I AA S/C''d it for him), E30 M and last but not least E30 IX... I drove the E30 M and was sold. I can't get an M due to the price but damn an I or IS would have potential I thought.

So I picked up the car running but non moving. Good clean body though.

    What I've done so far:
Lowered - cut springs front and some KW v3's left over from an e46 M without perches for the rear- going coils is why im doing a hack for now.

    Clutch slave
    Throttle body elbow
    Fan Clutch
    Belts
    TB WP
    Ellipsoids
Tucked front bumper- rear will be done soon
    M Tech wheel
    Z4M shifter
    Coolant tank
    Cab top latches
    Cab top locating bolts
    Cab top latch plates
    Cab top cables
    Hood strut
    Plug wires
    Plugs
    Exhaust bushings
    Exide 108 batt
    O2
    Fan switch
Xxr 501 15x8 +15 all the way around

Probably more but I can't think of anymore right now.

    Future plans:
    16's
Z4M seats heated and powered - probably going to do a writeup as my first contribution to the forum, I have the seats but please be patient.

    All black interior
    Rear headrest
    M tech 2 wheel
    New top
    New dash
    Stereo
    Coilovers
    Plastic bumps
    Euro grills

    One of the below:
    S54
    S62

    Non BMW:
    2jz
    Sr20
    Rb25
    Rb26
    Vq35
    Vq37
    F22

    Hard to decide

I have a problem though that I thought you guys may be able to help with:
With the sealed beams and the elips, my lowbeam warning light comes on; any ideas?

I've also had the pleasure of meeting ejkight, he approched me at the gas station, nice guy.

And I've spoken to bmwm42; thank you for you help with finding back cab guts.

I'll post pics if you guys are interested.

    Happy holidays

Honestly I am not really considering the n54, I'm not entirely a fan of that powerplant, just threw it in the pics for shiets. To me it feels really heavy and very slow in the response department. For the effort and $$ I would rather a S54 w/35r if I wanted boost but I am an NA guy at heart. I almost feel the same about the S62 however besides hucking vanos units they are spectacular engines.

Btw nice to "meet" you bimmer_e30

Forgot to mention car looks pretty good. Hell of a transformation by any standards.

                        Nice looking shop too!
