Want some opinions on buying this or no?

Heres what the guy said to me via email (asked for his number but he never gave it)

"The car ran perfectly before and after the accident, oil was changed every 3,000 miles with royal purple and an OEM BMW oil filter, there are new struts on her and I replaced the spark plugs and coils when I purchased the car. It gets started every few weeks but it requires a jump to get the car started since it needs a new battery. I know the alternator is fine because once you get the car moving it doesn't die. The power steering rack was leaking just like on every other e30 so I took the belt off of the pump to save it from running dry and locking up. Power windows work perfectly and there is a small aftermarket sound system installed (speakers and head unit). It needs a new sunroof panel because of surface rust. The hood is half sanded, but if you decide to buy the car I can either finish it or leave it as is.

All in all it's a good car, it's just a little banged up and needs someone to either fix it or part it out and make the money I can't take advantage of."

He wasnt going to include the Konig Remembers for the 600 but wants 1000 with them (wrapped in new Bridgestone Potenzas). That damage looks like a pain in the ass to fix, but I can weld and am pretty good with bondo and fairing work. Just trying to see what everyone opinions are. Here are the pictures:

"You could easily make 3 grand parting this car out." from CL ad.

If that was the case why wouldn't he do it.

That thing looks like more trouble than it's worth. If you really want to take it on as a project low ball the shit out of him.

Buy it, its worth it. Find a shop to do the repair and you have a solid car. If you have a MIG welder, buy it now.

If the car is rust free, I would go for it with the wheels. a bumper will cost you like 50 dollars, the mtalt piece you need would prob. cost 10 dollars ma,. if you have a few connections. paint and bondo material would prob. run about 100 dollars, along with a 70 dollar battery.
so for about 300 dollars more and a bit of labor you have a car that is really nice looking an prob. nicer than 70% or the R3V nay sayers--- but that is only if you can do the stuff yourself and are a bit crafty.-- polish the rest of the car and then sell it for 4500!!!

E30s are not getting cheaper of better by the day.

I have a mig, and am not scared to tackle that quarter panel. And have plenty of experience in bondo/fairing work, just finished refurbishing my second boat (plenty of sanding!) I had planned on sanding and repainting the entire thing from the get-go. Gonna go check it out in the next few days in person and make a judgement call from there, its like 35 minutes from my house at least.

And If I buy it, I might have to bring a battery powered sawzall and chop that exhaust tip off before I drive it away lol

I know right? I have a perfect condition trunklid already ready to go on it, just needs to be painted to match.

Not worth it. Offer $600 for everything, then part it.

Psshh whatever! I would totally buy this car. No joke. So long as the rear axel isn't all fucked up I'd say its worth it.
