Thinking about starting this up!

I was thinking of starting up a little e-magazine (PDF magazine) for the forum and all the e30 community. I made up a test cover to kind of give you an idea what it will be like and then I will go from there. I was thinking that anyone who has a business selling e30 or bmw parts can put an ad in the magazine and get free advertisement, so if anyone would like there business advertised pm me and we can work on something. I plan is to keep the magazine free for right now and maybe if it gets bigger charge a small subscription fee. So ya whats your thoughts?

it's a good idea. the trick is to have useful content and not just fluff. if you can get experts in the community to contribute some in-depth technical content with decent pictures, report more on the e30 racing scene (se30, pro3 etc.) you should get a decent circulation going. it's not going to be performance bmw but you should be able to break even or make a small profit with advertising/subscription.

I'd say go for it. You have a built in mailing list(s) here and the other bimmer forums member list(s). If you know how to accomplish the nuts and bolts of running a mag, or a business you have a very good chance for success$$!

Go for it. As long as the articles are interesting I'd read it. Interviews, DIY articles, popular mods, etc. would be nice to see in there.

What are your goals/is your motivation in doing this? Since you are donating ad space for free and not charging for subscriptions, you will obviously not be making money at this. If you have time to do this every month, or every other month, and it's just a labor of love, then God bless ya! It seems that having the RESPONSIBILITY of putting this thing out on a regular basis might wear on you pretty quickly with no financial benefit.

Please don't get me wrong; I'd love to see this happen, and I'd be a subscriber (and contributor, if you're looking for that sort of thing). Just being prragmatic...
