    Illinois sucks

The video says "If your caught speeding 30mph over the limit you will get $1500 fine and 6 months in prison, and for 40 over $2500 and a year in prison with no chance of court supervision"

Illinois also has lower speedlimits than they did in the 60s with 55mph limits on highways near the cities and the highest speedlimit in Illinois is 65mph.

What do you think of this?

ha ha. I am from the N.W. suburbs. in 1992 they caught me illegal street racing (yeah, i was immiture) 2 times, revoked my license, and I still have no license to this day in the U.S.
the reason for me to join the U.S. Army and stay over here in Europe.

I tried a few years ago when I wa on vacation to get it reenstated- they wanted me to get some crazy insurance for atleast 1 year (was like 400 dollars a month) and go through some stupid ass interview.
      f##k em.

Those are maximum penalties. But yeah - still crazy-high.

I miss the old days. Was once clocked @ 122 in a 55 on a Ducati I had and only paid $160 for the ticket.

Officer escorted me to the cop shop - I paid the ticket - and rode off. Pretty sure that same offence would have WAY higher consequences these days..

In Ohio... no jobs, so everyone wants to be a cop!

Just gotta love Texas. Too big to enforce. Even the cities like Dallas, hardly see cops except 2am trying nab the drunk drivers. Which I completly endorse.

Illinois still has some of the cheapest tickets I have heard of. I got a ticket for 50 in a 35 and it was $75 and my 77 in a 65 ticket in florida was nearly $250. It suprises me that they would do this, I am hopping they get rid of it soon.

I can't speak for the rest of the state but down around St. Louis they like to set up signs lowering the speed limit for construction zones a good two miles before you see a single cone. One of my former coworkers once got ticketed by a speed camera van saying he was going 61 in a 45 mph construction zone (limit is normally 55 or 60). Well they send you a picture of your car and in his there was not a cone in sight. There's something fundamentally wrong over there. (I stay on the Missouri side of the river)

I hate IL. I have truned down several full time jobs that would keep me close to home that would pay well into the 150k range on the SOLE REASON of being in IL and I would have to live there.

Shitty gun laws, shitty traffic laws, Shitty roads, Shitty stupid high taxes ect ect.

Why any one lives there is beyond me

                          More news about ILL.

SPRINGFIELD — Gov. Quinn struck a deal with the Legislature’s ruling Democrats Thursday to raise the state income tax by 75 percent and boost the tax on cigarettes by $1 a pack — while a push to abolish the death penalty scored a historic legislative victory.

The cornerstone of a dramatic day, the revenue agreement reached by Quinn, House Speaker Michael Madigan (D-Chicago) and Senate President John Cullerton (D-Chicago) would impose a temporary increase in the state tax on workers’ paychecks from 3 percent to 5 ¼-percent.

The money from that, the cigarette tax hike and a corresponding increase in the corporate income tax from 4.8 percent to 8.4 percent would erase the state’s expected $15 billion deficit.
