they both went straight through the chicane... isn't that a penalty or something?

If a driver misses a chicane or a corner, but gains a position, he has to either give the position back, or face a drive thru penalty....In V8 Supercar racing.

Imo,
The Ford was ahead by a nose when they missed the chicane, but the Holden came out first. Imo the Holden gained his position.

However, I think that the officials did not penalize the Holden driver because his corner exit out of the preceding corner was spoilt by the bumper tag by the same Ford.

This series has had the best fender to fender Racing this year bar none.
.....And yet it is basically a 2 make NASCAR style format on Road Courses.
