100 screwdrivers is greedy, and honestly what would you with them all?

Oh yeah be a dick and make some bank. Dude, make money honestly and just accept you're not getting anything.

I should have never told R3V about it

I can't blame the website for our error as it doesn't do the repricing, it was more than likely something I did in one of the many times I was writing sql queries to do some price changing. We are a small company, just 7 employees in a 3400 sq. ft building and have dealt with a 100%+ growth in 2009 and an 85%+ growth in 2010. We have run out of physical room to add more product lines and employees. I'm in the process of buying a 20,000 sq. ft building, so after we get moved we will have the physical room to bring on more employees to help get things running smoother and will have the room to stock more lines of product.

My sales rep for Bondus is an awesome guy and he actually use to be my Wiha rep as Bondus was the original importer of Wiha into the USA before Wiha opened their own office here (note that both are still in the same small town of Monticello, Minnesota). I spent quite a bit of time at Bondus' booth at the International Hardware Show in Cologne Germany last year and they do have some neat new offerings. I just have to get the physical room to put their product on the shelf.

Yes our web site is one thing that needs more attention as I can tell you that I know that we have over 900 in stock items that you wont find by browsing our web site. This isn't a problem with our web site but a limitation of myself not having enough free hours to keep our growth under control and I do already work 7 days a week 12-16 hours a day.

Our new web site (as of 5/2010) does have the ability for me to set up coupon codes so that we can offer discounts to groups like this forum and I will be more than happy to do so but ya can't expect me to offer $15 screwdriver for $0.10,:D it would be more likely like a 5% or 10% off thing. Let me get this move behind me and then I will get the training from the software developers on how to set up the coupons (sometime around April).

There are errors on Amazon all of the time, they cancel all orders at the mistake price and let you know there was an error. You can't honestly expect them to sell 65" LED TVs for $149.99 or PS3s for $39.99, can you? A mistake is a mistake, customers need to understand that. If not getting a screwdriver for 10 cents is enough to turn you away as a customer for life then something tells me you wouldn't have been much of a customer anyways.

The entitlement part of it just makes me rage so I won't go off on a big rant about it, but in short you don't deserve anything and nobody owes you anything for clicking a button.
It's not entitlement. I work in a service industry with a heavy emphasis on customer service. I know how to retain business and I've certainly seen how you lose it. Look around at all of the horrible parts suppliers. It's rarely the actual parts that are the problem. I'm sure this guy has quality tools - but sending the guy who ordered 100 screwdrivers a freebie (just one) and maybe a note saying "sorry for our carelessness with the website - we're experiencing some growing pains" could generate a lot of business. will that ever be a losing business proposition? No, unless they keep making pricing errors.

But hey, it's your business - do what you want. When I want crap customer service I'll go to harbor freight.

^ I agree. But is it really a big deal?

Curt, keep up the good work.

Is customer service a big deal? I'd say so.

It is, but you are being unreasonable saying he should lose $700 to give you what you ordered

That is what you were saying earlier, then I believe he said he should still send one or two for your trouble at the price you wanted.

Either way, I should have never posted link

In defense of Microtools, I recently placed an order for fifty $0.10 USB micro cables I found on Amazon.com. Sure enough the order was canceled and I received one cable in the mail for free as an apology.

I cherish the cable and plug it into my phone every day.

That sounds like it's more in support of my suggestion.
