So it was written, so shall it be done. Welcome to the 2011 Formula 1 World Championship thread.

Thanks to those wonderful, on-the-ball fellas over at Speedhunters, we have our first look at one of the first official cars of the 2011 season. Enjoy, and may the best driver win! Looking forward to an amazing season.

Lotus Motorsport today unveiled it's 2011 Formula One World Championship car at the Autosport International show in Birmingham, United Kingdom. Previously Renault F1, the team has been renamed as Lotus Renault from the start of the 2011 season. The team has returned to it's iconic black and gold livery which graced it's world championship winning car in 1972 amongst others. More coverage and more new cars from Autosport coming soon ...

Is that the new car as well or just their new livery? If it is the car they don't look that different from last year despite new front and rear wings. I like the paint scheme though, and the bronze wheels are awesome.

      Edit: Hick answered me lol

I don't know man, it says that's the new car, and it does have the new Pirelli tires on it.

"We want to win with this car," Boullier told AUTOSPORT in Birmingham. "To win you need to be a regular podium finisher - and then you will win – and that is our target.

I highly doubt they are even allowed to have Bridgestones on the car any more. Not to mention they were probably collecting data on the Pirellis just pushing the car around.

              If I understand correctly, that's a 2010 Renault with their 2011 scheme?

Who knows. It's still pretty damn badass to see something new. March isn't going to come soon enough.

Ok well that cant be a new car because Ferrari is reportedly launching first on the 28th.

I know, I cant wait. I hope Ferrari comes back in dominating fashion after the ending they had last season.

Ferrari finished well, but Red Bull still had the best car.

So true, Alonso never should have had that kinda chance. Vettel would have sailed into the sunset and it would have been a mediocre season

Yan, I know you have mentioned before that you were watching the BBC feeds, not the American Speed coverage.

Where were you getting those from, and were you watching them online, or on TV?
