Petrov is uninjured, reports say no broken bones and no swelling. I wonder if that dirty russian called for an ambulance to try and end the race, thus setting the final positions back to the lap prior.

Great race, Hamy put a briliant move on schumi but then went kamakazi from then on out. I kinda feel if you make a bad judgement and it takes out another car you should be black flagged,,, kinda a tit for tat. I was really hoping kobayashi could of held on that last 2 laps without being passed as he is on my team..... Seb def was very lucky for the red flag. Sort of made the race anticlimactic just like q3.

Good job by weber to keep fighting the entire race which Im sure had to be hard given his misfortune at the start in the pits.

I don't think 6 more laps would have affected the Vettel, Alonso, Button battle outright. They were lucky though that none of them got taken out by the collisions.

Hamilton really is showing bad form now, he needs to shut up and race.

alonso and button were breathing down his neck, 6 more laps would have DEFINITELY affected the outcome. Either god or satan is watching out for him

They had been breathing down his neck for a dozen laps before that and the cars behind him didn't have the pace to outright pass him, it would have taken something extremely risky which would probably involve Alonso and Vettel taking each other out and Button winning.

The race did wonders for my fantasy league as I am up to 98 overall!

I find it great to watch hamilton/button style difference. Both have the same equipment but completely diff style. With the new tires Button is the master this year, at letting the race come to him. He never seems to be pressing, he just keeps turning in good laps but never on an all out thrash. The first SC prob cost him the race and well never know what the second sc/red flag could have cost him. Funny he seems to have had the worst misfortune of the merc drivers but I doubt you will hear him say much.

So true, that was painful to watch. Every time they passed the whole crowd jumped to their feet and cheered for Alonso. The whole race was insane and there wasn't a whole lot of sitting in the crowd. Our seats put us so we watched Massa pull his pass and we were also able to see Petrov's incident, his car was just down the wall from us on the opposite side of the track when it rolled to a stop. It was interesting to see them pull him out and take care of him, they do a lot better at screening the media out by covering the whole incident in tarps and having the work crew all lock arms around the car on the outside of the workers holding the tarps.

Also, I can't remember who it was but another car that broke some rear suspension part limped off right in front of us in the same corner, looked like he tapped the wall on turn 5 possibly. Pictures are loading, it may be a while since i had another 3 gigs or so worth of pictures between yesterday and today.

Vlad, I have no idea what that bike was but it had I'm guessing a 315 or wider rear tire, I love choppers and such and even West Coast Choppers never had any this wide, it was absolutely huge! I just saw it ride past a couple of times but it had some sort of a V-twin judging by the sound and the fact his gf was riding a chopper behind him, sadly I never was able to snap a shot of her on the bike, she was a tiny little asian chick with tats up her arm.

Poor Form. I'm wondering why this one get left alone... Thats a poor thing to think, let alone say, and what did he do to prompt it?

Petrov was apparently knocked out upon impact and only came-to a couple of minutes later, and since Malaysia (his airbourne antics) has had a pretty sore lower back. After the crash (having returned to consciousness) he told the Renault pits that he wanted assistance getting out of the car because he'd hurt his back again. It was a pretty awkward impact, and much worse than Alguersuari's beside him.

I thought that when I read it earlier and frankly, was surprised to see 10 or so more posts since then and yours being the first to call this out. What would he stand to gain by ending the race by crashing himself out? I must have missed something here...

Not that i agree with the comment, but Petrov stood to gain a lot if the race was ended right there, because the race would have been backtracked to the previous lap and Petrov would be getting some points.

It was an interesting race. Both Red Bull and McLaren had communication problems leading to their pitstops. The top three were amazing! Great race by them and all three had something go against them and they kept their cool, or seemed to at least.

Hamilton better watch what he says or he'll soon become an outcast, he whinges too bloody much. He is a phenomenal driver and races hard but he has become more impatient through his time in F1 when trying to make an overtake. He made two very questionable manoeuvre's (in places where you really need to be along beside the other car to successfully make a move) that put 2 drivers out of the race and in my opinion warranted the penalties.

                          Exactly.

Also, if you would like to make it something about nationality/race, try this one on for size

I read that interview. Joke or not, it's still stupid and unprofessional. He needs to get over himself.. The team made him apologize to the stewards and the BBC for the interview

I don't know... just involved in a shunt that knocked you unconscious, but have the wits to request extraction via ambulance/assistance because you realized that your race is over and if they stop the race at that point, you stand to gain some championship points, because the standings revert back to the prvious lap? If that's true and he is that witty, he should be running the FIA, not just driving in it, Lol! I think you're giving a little too much credit to the wherewithal of a driver, foggy from a crash, being able to make a decision like that... ever been knocked unconscious? You come out of it in a fog so deep, you don't even know what species you are, let alone where you are, what you're in the middle of and what you were doing right before you got knocked out... no way Petrov made that decision because he knew he would stand to gain some championship points... no way...
