Why RBR tell Webber to stay back? It's not like it would have hurt Vettle in the points.
I think it would have been to avoid a reversal of Turkey last year.

If Ferrari don't win again this year I think that proves that Jean Todt still has loyalties to the prancing horse.

Schumi was set to get me some serious points until he bashed his nose into K.K. He has had more contact this year then any driver. Lost all respect for RBR with their "We will let them race b.s." Weber is in a catch 22. Do you leave the best car were you play second fiddle for a worse car... tough spot to be in.

The team waited until 3 or 4 laps to go to tell Webber to maintain position as both had shot tires, and would be fighting like Massa and Hamilton to get to the finish line, I don't really see what the problem is when the team gets 33 points if they tell him to stay as is, or 0 points if he goes for it and it is a repeat of Turkey. Team made the right call, they had 50 laps to fight for it, no reason to throw it all away on the last couple of laps.

Webber may have just lost his job refusing to listen to the team there.

vettel is their golden boy, AND he doesn't know how to defend himself so they had to tell webber to back off or else....

I never believed the "we will let them race" crap, especially after last year's british grand prix. Webber was all over vettel and everyone knew it but that would've meant webber was going to finish ahead of him and we can't have that now can we?

And then he couldn't get past Vettel(who apparently can't defend himself), which if what you say is the case, Webber really is a number 2 driver.

My prob isnt the fact they gave the order it is how two faced RBR is since they flaunt how they are so above giving team orders in the spirit of competion...At least if its Vettel who is trailing. Thats whats BS. At least Ferrari make no claims about that they dont give orders. Which I can respsect.... SO you will have new rumors about wether it will be ferrari or RBR for button.

It totally would have if they ran each other off the road. It's happened before...
Not a bad race though, A lot of drama!

                    *edit:
For the record, I'm a huge webber fan. I definatley would have rather seen them battle for second, but I also understand from a team points perspective why they told him to maintain the gap. Insidentally I also read Mark did say He ignored the team order given "4-5 laps from the finish" to maintain the gap and was battling to the end... so who knows what really happend..

^^^ so now he's getting a stern "talking to" from horner. He's probably going to get time out now. :(

I doubt this will end up anything like McLaren in 2007. Probably just Webber saying meh, and Horner saying everything is fine in the team.

yeah probably. What do you think will happen to Webber next year? Do you think RBR will kick him out?

I was wondering about the timing of the radio transmission? A lap before the call was heard on TV Webber had a huge run on Vettel down the old start finish straight and definitely feathered the throttle as not to pass. Are the team communications real time? It looked to me like call had already come in

No, they aren't real time, and according to Webber 5-6 messages were sent to him, which probably means like 10. He also said he ignored them all and was trying to pass Vettel until the finish line.

As for Webber, I don't really care what happens to him next year, if he stays, great. If he leaves, great too, maybe Kobash or Button will get the seat.

Yeah it would definitely be interesting to see what kobyashi would do in a decent car
