      heard this during the Dinan open house. Because people don't chck their oil, Bmw decided to save $20 per vehicle by having those things removed

                  Im surprised this is still news to people who are up-to-date on all things "BMW" and participate in BMW related forums.                     The car runs a diagnostic check when the car starts up.. if the CHECK ENGINE light doesn't flash before the car idles normally, you should realize there is a problem.. it happens in my e46, but I still have a dipstick..

                    Same thing in the e30. I always check my panel before I start it up..

                      I'm glad BMW is bringing back 4-cyl models to the US. Hell that thing makes almost as much power and torque as the N54/N55 but weighs 30% less and gets much better fuel economy. Long live turbo 4-bangers. Can you imagine how much fun that shit would be in an e30 :woowoo:
