finding a steering rack?

Hey guys,

looking into replacing my rack with a tigher one. I've heard that a z3 rack is the way to go.

where should i go about loooking for one? are PNPs my best bet?

I just started digging around for one. From what I've read there isn't much difference between any of the e36 steering racks. Hit the pick n' pull as most of the ones you will find online (ebay, carpartsjunky.com, etc.) are between $180-400.

whats the best rack to get? there are a couple Z3, do i want the z3 long rack? the z3 m3? bottom line, what the rack with the least amount of turns to lock?

I got an e36 rack, 3.2 turns LTL, I think the best Z3 rack (out of the 1.9L) is 2.7 turns LTL but I'm unsure if the total rack travel is the same (i.e. same full-lock) or less. For reference I think the regular e30 rack is 3.9 turns LTL and an E30 M3 is 3.5, please correct me if I'm wrong.
