    Dyno Results

My brother and I, and about 10 friends that tagged along, went to Motorsport Connections yesterday (phone: 336-659-8988) to get a baseline number of my car on their Dynojet chassis dynomometer.

We did 4 pulls with the car, the best being:

    227.4whp
    ~210 wtq

My air/fuels are decent up top, but are miserable down low, and I need to have them sorted STAT. My brother and the shop owner agreed that I am missing out on a LOT of horsepower/torque down low, 20-40 ft/lbs in some places.

    Here are pictures:

This is a graph of the 4 runs with only the HP/TQ curves. We took a picture of the computer screen with a camera, so pardon the quality. I will have full charts/graphs of HP/TQ/Fuel air next week.

Me standing beside the rig. I didn't know my brother was taking a pic. :D Look a bit ill in the picture. :D

    ass.

For comparison, the shop owners car put 230whp down on the same dyno. His car is a '95 M3 with an intake, euro HFM, Schricks, big injectors, headers, full-race exhaust, and a chip.

After some fuel/air tuning, I expect to break 230whp on this particular dyno. Nevertheless, 227.4whp on a Dynojet is 275 crankshaft horsepower (274.91).

    Good times. 8)

Nice job Stu, 227WHP in an E30 is plenty.

Nice tread on those tires too...ES100's I presume.

Good gravy if I could get that much horsepower out of my E30, I'd die happy.
          Reminiscing...

I had to remove the i/is/splitter because it wouldn't get up onto the dyno.

Those are some shitty numbers for the 95 M3.

Tell him to take it to a good shop and have them check to make sure everything is bolted on right. 230 RWHP out of an M3 with all work is garbage. Most guys put out anywhere from 240-260 RWHP with his mods.

As for your car. Those are some good numbers. But the dyno you used is pretty optimistic as are your crank numbers. Plus your motor as you said needs some adjustments done to it to real cook.

For some reference: Most healthy 95 M3's bone stock do between 200-210 RWHP depending on the dyno.

Damn, better stop talking shit to Diego. 220rwhp is nothing for a turbo car.

What else are dyno numbers for? All they are good for is comparing numbers! You don't need a dyno to tune a car. Just a wide band O2 sensor and data logger.

 You look like you're about to fuckin kill someone Stu. Those numbers weren't 1/2 bad man. Play around with the tuning, have @ it again in a couple of months.

Decent enough numbers (still twice as much as the M42 could muster ;) ), do you have anything else planned for the motor down the road besides more tuning?
