e30 shops or garages that do good wiring

i just bought a 325e with an is engine swap. problem is he did a hack job on the wiring... now i have a short i cant find popping fuses, my dash lights dont work, my gauges are off, and i think it would be better to just completely redo it all at this point. i tried searching but some places are charging me atronomical prices that a 19 year old college kid really cant afford. thanks everyone, i know this is the place to come for help. i checked german tech in thousand oaks already and a couple shops in the valley. found some bmw techs on craigslist but i dont know if i should trust them... dont want to end up with another headache

    Three letters:

    DIY.

There's nothing like a free weekend, a case of beer, and re-wiring an old ass BMW. I think everyone should experience this. Builds character.

Mitch (lifeiskaos) works there and I've heard he's a wiring savant.

hahahaha i had a free weekend and got a huge headache... i dont know to much about cars. im 19 just starting to learn about all this stuff. i ordered the manual for the car so once that gets here hopefully i should be squared away. its me and my moms boyfriend working on it. he can do all the mechanical stuff but wiring isnt his strong point so im just trying to get it sorted before i get pulled over again.

The question is why having purchased a car with a hack job.

Electrical gremlins are the worst job. Especially when somebody hacked into the harness.
