Is this one of the 13 FWD models by 2016 they were talking about a few days ago?

Looks like it could be a winner. The new 4 also sounds interesting. I think it looks better from the stern quarter.

I doubt it will be FWD, not in a roadster

Why is it that 90% of the posters in this thread can't write at above a 4th grade level?

The Z2 makes sense from a placement standpoint. The E85 Z4 was a fair bit more expensive than the Z3, and the E89 Z is more expensive still. You really can't get your foot in the door for less than 50k on a new one, you're in the 60s once you get a turbo motor and a few options. A 1-series based car in the mid 30s makes sense as a Miata/TT roadster fighter. If you follow the rumors, Porsche/VW are also looking to put out a sub-boxster level roadster with the 2.0 turbo 4 that they stick in most of the VAG cars, so this would compete there.

Id rather have a clean M Coupe and keep the extra cash.

The "Z" styling motif that they carried from the Z4 is kinda cool though.
Are you really critiquing the styling based off of some Aussie websites crappy 5 minute photoshop job on a Z4?

Being 4 years old (that's like 40 yrs in auto development) I'm sure whatever is in that article is no longer applicable

The only pictures available are clearly bad photoshops.

It's about as applicable as the current one. It says the same shit (4 banger turbo) and has some photoshop renders. I posted it because it gives a different viewpoint on what might be developed because all we have a photoshop renders. Plus, this render has a better looking rear end.
Only thing that is proven false about it is that it said it would be released last year.
