opportunity for Free parts car? What do you do?

Ill cliff note this to make it simple.

Friend getting rid of 94 (95)? 325i manual with blown clutch.

I (basically) have no shop, my tools are in storage, and have no place to keep car.

all I really want is the engine and front driveshaft/dme/intake stuff.

however I dont have a place to pull the engine or donno what to do with the car after I have pulled engine.

I have less than 2 weeks to come up with something

    thanks,

Well if you have no time or space, take it and call the junkyard to get it towed away for you.
    $400 right there or something.

    Just make a plan.

        junk·yard   /ˈdʒʌŋkˌyɑrd/ Show Spelled

        –noun
a yard for the collection, storage, and resale of junk.

        Origin:
        1875–80, Americanism ; junk1 + yard2

Judging from this definition, I think they only accept running cars that will pass a close inspection

          The fuck?

Junkyard should still take a car w/o an engine. You probably wouldn't get as much for a stripped car vs a complete one, of course I have no experience in the matter.

Maybe try to find a r3v member that'd let you pull the engine at their house. Pull and scrap in one day kind of thing?

Or get it towed to the JY and pull the engine there, arrange a price w/ them from there?

find a friend or rent a storage area, yank the motor, put on craigslist "free car"

Rent a storage unit. Usually around $50 a month.

if you can find a place to pull the motor (friends, dads, any where flat) just pull the motor and send the rest off to pick and pull. thats what i am doing.

Pick n pull will take it but you need papers to prove it wasn't a stolen car.

My friend, who live in San Jose, would rent storage units at places that offer the first month for 1 dollar. Then he would just move to another unit using his father name (or some one different). Payed $12 for a year of storage this way last year.

Fuck that is such a good IDea.

but I couldnt cordinate something like that right now way too muuch to deal with on top of building the 2002 turbo and college in davis. if the 2002 was done (which it will be within 2 mos.) then I would definitley tackle that.

And this is coming from an e36 owner.

I got a $200 parts car and my M50 at a time where I lived in an apartment in downtown minneapolis.

Paid my friend $30/month to keep the car in his garage for a year, got AAA to tow the car over there.

Don't think, just do work! It can work out if you try. A free e36 would definitely suit me well, any day of the week
