who bought IE's SS catback exhaust?

i just bought it the other day and put it on....
(i work at a shop... the car was on a lift)
and it was a pain in the ass to get the flanges bolted together. but with a big pair of channel locks i got the two flanges close enough to each other to get a nut threaded on... then tightened it the rest of the way.

once the exhaust was on the hanger on the front of the rear subframe would not fit and the muffler was resting against the left side of the valence.

i was just wondering if anyone had problems with the exhaust fitment? i think it was just twisted in shipment... oh and one of the tips had a dent in it.

I just put mine on as well. The pipes were a little too close together but I was able to tighten it even so that it barely sealed.
Renting my rear wheel bearing tool kit. SIR

you mean to tell me that the arguably cheapest off the shelf aftermarket e30 exhaust on the market isn't perfect?!?!?!?!

I had the exact same problem with it sitting to far off to the side. Put it back up on the lift. Loosen the bolts on the hangers a bit and kinda twist the exhast around (I forget which direction to turn it) and in less than 5 min it will sit perfectly.

Why don't we just let the people who actually have this exhaust and experience putting it on answer the question.

Yeah, I just got mine on yesterday. The pipes were too close together, but after working with it for ~10 minutes I got it together.

I helped a friend put this exhaust on his car and had the same problem. It took some massive channel locks to get the hangers on. While almost all of IE products are nice this was of sub-par quality in my opinion.

Ya if you look at my sig picture it looks like its rubbing on the left rear of the valance. Had to lossin the muffler brakets and wiggle them around so it didn't rub.

The man has a point. You get what you pay for, no matter what every E30 owner seems to think.

The hangers are stock BMW so don't blame IE for that.

And like I said before, mine was sitting off to the left just like everyone elses, all you need to do to fix that is loosen up the brackets and twist it a little. Took me about 5 min once I got around to doing it.
