Driving my e30 5000 miles in 2 weeks... advice and suggestions

I've been looking into winter tires (all seasons on basketweaves now in the winter DOH!)... and it looks like I would have to go with 15"ers with what I've found on craigslist.

And incidentally, the only set of 15"s I have that would fit the car are a beater set of BBS RSs. Heh.

btw, my buddy was arrested for having less then a gram of pot on him in your state during our trip from MA to CO, he had to return, cut his trip short, to go to court so he could pay $2500.

should be fine. i made an east coast road trip in my 87 and brought tools, an alt belt, plugs cap and rotor, coolant and oil. and all was well. took it like a champ. 230k on it too with a head with maybe 170?

also never road trip with out some duct tape, zip ties, hose clamps, jb weld, toilet paper and some stylish aviators. if you cant survive a road trip armed with those, your useless ;)

extra headlight? my car once got hit with a small rock and shattered the entire low beam at night, then got pulled over while on my way to get one. but your pretty much set to go and good luck.

+1 to a bag of weed and one of those dugout/one-hitter set ups..

Keep bag hidden in a sock with/in trunk luggage.
Tuck hitter box under shifter boot if pulled over.
Ventilate cabin via sunroof.
Trail ppl going faster than you.

Sounds like the car will do just fine. I've personally made trips just as long in much, much worse cars. I would suggest (if you have it) an extra oil pan in case hit something with yours. Unless you're running a skid plate then you might be alright.

I hear there's nothing more fun that getting either the night in jail or a fine big enough to make shred your asshole.

OP- I think its a great idea to jeapordize your "fun escape" by bringing weed. It will either 1) Not really add much to the trip, or 2) Make your entire life a little worse off if you get caught. Sounds like a win-win situation to me..
