my favorite is finding random people leaning up against your car, just because it's convenient. either that, or finding hamburger wrappers or cups on your trunk/roof.

Little things like that show serious character flaws. I was at a restaurant in Paso Robles wih some friends and co-workers, and some douche walks by our table and puts his empty glass on it, then just walks away. If my boss hadn't been there, I'd have tought that fucker some manners.

At my college I park my car as far away as possible, near no other cars. Even when the lot is at it's fullest, people will always go for the closest spots so no cars are ever parked next to mine.

This is a good practice for many reasons besides the obvious.
I get a little extra exercise. You don't have to worry about being careful about opening the door and someone parking right up against your car. You are is also safer to being keyed or something robbed from your car because it's in the open so this is a deterrent. Lastly, other e30 fanatics can easily spot your car and it looks cool by itself.

I follow this principle not just for school but for any parking lot such as the mall, shopping centers, etc. When your in the city and this is not an option try parking in a lot farther away instead of parallel parking where it is more likely a careless/clueless driver will bump you while parking.

I actually enjoy carefully choosing my secluded parking spots and don't think of it as an inconvenience.

So far my experiences at college have been okay, but i also park at the very top of the parking garage just to be safe. The car has been partially repainted before, and now all of the clear coat is starting to come off...

the best was when this stupid girl... smoking hot but retarded.. put her coffee mug on the roof of my acura TL so that she could walk back to her trunk, put the stuff in and boom i open my car as i'm coming back and she gets scared and rushes to recover her mug. I told her that was pretty messed up... i wanted to say something else, but she was just too good looking. no damage to paint, but i was still livid.... then i facepalmed myself after i realized i should have asked her out.

Sounds to me your the retarded one....LOL :giggle:

I think that most people that drive, especially in college towns either...

A- Dont give a shit because mommy and daddy bought them the car. So they just beat it up.Which makes em think its okay to think like that bout everyones car.
B- They think of cars as machinery that dont have much value and have no respect for it because they dont put the amount of work we put into it.
They see an old car and say ehh w.e. Because they have never understood how it is to care about a car the way we do.

At one time I had a White 1957 Chevy Bel Air hardtop that I would park waaay out in the parking lot so I had to walk forever and when I would return someone was always parked next to it. I finally gave up and started parking close.

Winter has completely fucked up the majority of my paint..the semi-hard snow that another car would have no problem parallel parking into would completely fuck up my paint.. :puppy:
And then when your friends think that "you only drive an 80's POS BMW" And they sit on your hood and trunk thinking its just a car..
                    fuuuuuuuuuuuuck

Somehow I knew this was you just after reading the first sentence. I'll be sure to sit your hood next time ;)

But no I wont, because I have respect. I feel the same way. Kids at my school are pretty good, because they all respect me and my car, but they all drive brand new audi's, mercury's and dodges their parents bought for them. I am seriously the only kid in the entire school who has bought their own car. But I hate when people say "oh, it's just some old volvo or bmw" Yeah, it may be, but its MINE that I paid for with MY money that I try to keep nice as possible.
