Just donate my payment to The Human Fund.

I thought you were doing photo printing on a guitar. The art cars are so cool. Even look at the race cars of the day. Tic_Tac, Jagermeister....

Laguna would be nice with a Maple neck and gold hardware.

Yep, no photo printing, just using the paint colors.

Gold hardware sounds nice. But wouldn't it be more true to form if we used chrome hardware, then you can all shadowline it?

I personally like playing with a maple neck. I just think Laguna (body), with tan interior(neck) and gold RS's(hardware) would be a nice look and still somewhat unique.

Alpina blue with stripes, powdercoated silver hardware?

Designs are coming along nicely. Thinking about making the following
-Hennarot e30 guitar w/ Alpina striping
              -Laguna seca e36 guitar w/ m-tech striping
              -Some sortof art car

I have a contact who works at BMW in the design department. I will be contacting him to see about getting clearance for more specific BMW trademarks. I'd love to make knobs with the roundel logo, and I'd love to put kidney grills on the headstocks.

              Will post sketches soon.

Looking at your specs, you guys are doing it right. Right hardware, right nut material, right finish, right wood (redwood? yes, please!), etc. Excellent work!

So, we're going to start with 2 design prototypes. The first will be a Laguna Seca Blue with M striping running diagonally across the corner of the body. My partner is an e36 man so that was his idea.

The other one, I want to get approval from you guys:
I want to do a Hennarot with Alpina style striping running straight on the side of the body. But I want to be historically accurate, so I need to know if there ever were any Hennarot Alpinas.

So, uh, were there any? Anybody have pics?

                    designs to come soon

Here are some ROUGH photoshop sketches for the Laguna Seca guitar.
                      Features:
                      -e36 grill shaped pickups.
                      -Roundel knobs
-"///M Technic" on the 12th fret
-Various Positioning for German M striping

                      WHICH ONE DO YOU LIKE??

I also tried one with Blue and Red M stripes, with ///M logo knobs:

oh gosh please please please don't do the kidney grill pickups. I have never seen a tackier thing :p

                        stripe - 3 or 4

consider a fade-in LTW flag instead of a stripe
                        cars beep boop

I, too, am not a fan of the kidney p'ups. I'd prefer to see a version of an S14/S38 valve cover in black-wrinkle

My vote is for the last one.

Yes, you are right. The morning after overlook tells me to not go with the kidney grill pickups. Still, I want to incorporate the kidney grill somewhere. Perhaps I can try it on the 12th fret instead of the "///M Technic" or etched onto the headstock.

Ok, so I took your advice, and whipped up a sketch where the kidney grill switched places with "///M Technic". I think this looks much better. ///M Technic would be subtly etched into the pickups, while the kidney grill looks much better on the 12th fret. Although now I do not want to go with an e36 grill. I will probably use an e30 grill, or a generally more classic BMW grill look.

                                Anyway, take a look:
