If you look at the dyno chart for this car you will notice substantial misfiring on the second half of the run. The whole run should be smooth like the first half. This is common on lowbuck standalone ECUs and is not simple and easy to fix. (the tuner would have fixed it if it was) The fix involves an electronics wizard an oscilloscope and a lot of time if it is fixable at all, or a whole other ECU system plus install plus tuning. Not a cheap one either. Just so you know...

There is a build thread for this car on either Bimmerfest.com or E30tech.com I cant remember which but it appears to be a solid build. If some one wants the details I am sure it wouldnt be to hard to find on one forum or the other.

Correct, the difference isn't that big, but to keep quoting the S50 as being heavier than the M30 when it very clearly isn't is the definition of forums spreading misinformation.

    In terms of weights, US S5x < M30 < Euro S5x. Science.

The US S50 is a somewhat lighter variant of the M50, which weighs 299lbs compared to the M30's 315lbs. This isn't rocket science guys.

    ^that is very true.

look under M50 / M52 for US S50 / 52 weights. S50/2s are just bored versions of M5x, so they'll actually be slightly LIGHTER than the non-M versions.

EURO S50 is heavier. S54 is heavier.

M30 is heavier than US S5x by ~15ish lbs.

Talked to the guy a several months ago when I was looking... He wanted more like 12k then though, ha. He wouldn't budge on price at all and wanted a premium for the work done even though it's nothing crazy.

The car has been on ebay a couple times before and never sold for his asking price. So in 19 days when the auction is over and it doesn't sell again make him an offer then he might bite...

this car has a ton of pluses going for it with the euro bumpers and over all clean chassis. but 10/10 I would take an m20 stroker over an m30. the minor horse power and torque is not work the weight gain on the front wheels. this is hugely obvious at autocross. so if you just want a clean fun car that drives more like a corvette then then this is a killer car, even at 9k.

I was looking at that car too. Im local if you want me to check it out. I'll take Teaguer with me. We will steal the eurobumps and leave it with my PBs....LOL.

Of course, if we both go look at it, it will most likely be 3 days before we report back. We cant seem to get anything done quickly.....LOLZ again.
