How to get new E30 home.

Alright guys im a tad stumped here. I might just be stupid, but maybe you can help me out here.

I am going to look at a new e30 tommrow, and hopefully bring it home. If I do decide to bring it home how should I get it there.

Its perfectly road going, but should I just print out a set of moving tags and pay that stupid virginia uninsured feed?

Should I risk it and just bring an extra set of plates from my house?

Its about a 90 mile trip from the car to my house.

tough call. Do you feel lucky? I brought my MT2 cabrio back with a random plate the seller had with my mom right behind me. It was a bit nerving for the 45min trek back but all worked out.

do you know of anybody with a trailer?

If you own a truck rent a super cheap tow dolly from uhaul. Borrow a truck or trailer if need be

                  Erie Insurance.

I am insured with my M3 with them. So I should just take the insurance card from my M3, and take the plates?

Cops dont know an m3 from a 325i.

No leave the plates on it, if you get pulled over let them know you just purchased it, show bill of sale and proof of insurance. Doesnt have to be for the car you are driving. At least in my state.

So is Oregon, Just try and not break the law, running the wrong plates on a car is a big no no. You will draw more attention to yourself doing that. Just drive the car home with your proof of insurance on you. I've been pulled over in my dads car and they see proof of insurance and a drivers license and they do a background check and you are on your way.

I've driven down the highway with no plates and cops have just passed by. Just don't act shifty and they won't have much of a reason to pull you over. And if you have all your documentation in order and they do catch you ridin' dirty, they probably won't give you a hard time.
