    Going Up to the Sierras tomorrow

    It'll be the first time that my E30 ever sees the snow or ice.
    What should I bring with me just in case?
    I have chains, but would it also be smarter to swap on my bottle caps with the more tire tread left on them?
    Any other precautionary items suggested?

    yes and yes. Put some additional weight in the trunk.
