Where to buy new hood/trunk shocks and other random crap?

I hate creating new threads for shit I know has been discussed before but I can't search for days on end when my search terms and the search engine aren't coming up with anything relevant. Besides.. I'd never say anything on here if I was able to find everything I always needed during my search sessions :)

So I am looking for sources to purchase brand new gas shocks/lifts for the hood, trunk, seats, convertible frame, vert top flap lid, etc. Where can I purchase these? IMO they aren't worth much and I am a cheap bastard. I'm not paying more than $10 or $15 for each of these and I know there is somewhere to get them for this price but I'm currently SOL in finding it. I don't want used ones, I won't be making any trips to my friendly local bmw stealership, and I won't be paying AutohausAZ or another parts store a questionable amount when they don't even stock all the lifts.

Pelican Parts has the hood and trunk lift.. I can't find any other ones. Mehhh.. I just want to buy all of them in one shot and be done with this.

I am also trying to track down other random parts for my vert:
Full sets of new rubber seals for the whole car
    Convertible top flap release cables
other stuff that I won't bore you with

I guess what I am really looking for here is the shocks for now and maybe a push in the right direction to some good, cheap retailers.

    Thanks in advance

    :pimp:

Hit up Levent from Guten parts or Blunt with part numbers and I'm sure they'll be able to accommodate you accordingly.

Be sure to specify an OE (Original Equipment) hood strut/shock. I picked up a 'worldpac' strut from BMA for my hood - and it was just as weak as the 20 year old (worn) part.

For the hood cover, you can use seat shocks, they need a bit of custom work like washers etc.... but work well.

sweet. I will keep this in mind.

I am talking to blunt at the moment. Let's see what we come up with :)

I bought an all original vert (except for a tacky aftermarket universal wing ) with only one owner. Looks like it sat inside in a garage all the time. No rust anywhere.. just lots of old, worn parts and seals and stuff. I think I made out good with this car.. so far, I love it to death.

oh, and thanks for chiming in Simon.. I have looked through your restore threads and so many of your posts for reference A LOT! You've created a world of help for people in my position that need a reference point to what they are getting themselves into with this kind of car.

PS - Your car is one of the best composed and solid e30's I have seen. Nice job.
