Hey man, don't worry about it. I did the same thing the DAY I bought my car. Luckily, I always put the oil cap on the intake manifold so I didn't lose it, and my "check engine" light popped on within a few minutes. No big deal. Welcome to r3vlimited.

        another moment of stupidity...

while i was bolting up the turbo, i decided to start the car with just the turbo exhaust manifold on to see what it sounded like...

well to get the manifold on i had to cut the hardl lines on the oil cooler...well i had done that...but just left them there..

start up the car...yea its loud....about 2 seconds later i shut it off, get out...walk around the car and almost bust my ass as ive stepped in a big fucking puddle of oil...

oh yea...oil goes through those lines...and fast!! there was oil all fucking under the the car on the right front wheel and the ground...funny. ; )

Castrol Superclean works great as a degreaser. Just mix it up in like an 8 to 1 ratio and soak the engine down. Then just rinse it off with a hose.

I need to do this to my car actually. I didn't tighten the valve cover down enough and oil leaked out the back a TON. This is on my MG though.

One day I got a little too high, topped off my car's oil level and drove home.

                Forgot to replace the cap.

Oil didn't go anywhere though, i just woke up the next morning, topped off the oil again and noticed it was already off.

fill the motor with simple green and run the car with no oil cap.

Oil Eater! At least you didn't try to replace the cap with a sock temporarily...
