    Rare older cars...

Got a rare opportunity to check out and drive a grey market 745i Turbo

I may be mistaken since I don't know much about these cars but from what I gather this car had a few items not offered in US production models...

    Euro bumpers (obviously)
    OEM Water buffalo leather seats
    Glass sunroof
    Active suspension
Turbo (pulls pretty hard for an old tank)
    Rear privacy shade

The rear suspension is being fixed at my friends shop so I though I would share. Imagine it slammed. On different wheels though...

Post up if you had any similar experiences with rare older cars...

I can just see the look on people's faces when you tell them your seats are water buffalo leather.

I had a euro e23. It was green on green cord. It had the high compression m30 and a 5 speed - it was surprisingly fast with a lot of torque. Sadly, the fastest car I think I've owned. Don't forget that they had 7 inch low beams and rear fog lights.

I thought there was a rare car in this thread? That seven is really clean though.

Or the look on their faces when you blow their doors off with that thing.

            745s are rare enough.

Want three? there is two running ones down the road from me. Another parts car 25 miles up the road. One is for sale the other one just sits there, and the parts car is in nice shape but the people that bought it did nothing with it. Just sits under a tarp for the last 6 years.

Not rare around me I guess, I was thinking of buying one for a cruising build but I would rather have a classy OLD Benz.

                I've owned an E28 M5, an 81 745i turbo, an Audi Urs4, a Merc 190e 2.3-16v, and a few E30 M3's. All of them were awesome,.

I know of 2 2002tis, 1600 cab and 2 700s near by. None of that makes them common.

active suspension must surely be goosed, it's sitting like it's rear springs are bust.

a friend owns a very high spec e23 with pretty much every option from new, sadly his wife crashed it and it now sits slowly rotting on his drive. to add insult his wife constantly moans about getting rid of it despite the fact she killed it.
