    mystery banging sound

    i have a clicking or like a banging sound in my 86 eta. it's not all the time and sounds like it's coming from right out side the drivers window, maybe around the relay area. it only does it once in a while. the first time was last july then not again till maybe a month ago. last night it did it again but for a longer time and goes away as fast as it starts. only at very low speed. does not seem to be rpm related as it dosen't fluctuate w/ revs. there is no vibration or performence issues. if it happened all the time i could get under there and check it out but when it does happen it's only for 5 or 10 seconds.

    any thoughts????
