    Oil Plug gasket

I was going to change my oil today but when I went to get the oil plug gasket all the local shops (advance, zone, etc) keep pulling up an aluminum gasket. I'm 100% positive that the oem asks for a copper washer.

    What do I do?

Reuse the one on there now, get the part number from realoem.com, find a place that sells them for cheap, buy a whole bunch. I bought 40 for like $10, don't have to worry about it ever again.

Oh, and what's wrong with aluminum? As long as the dimensions are the same just use that. I think they're 17mm outside diameter, 12mm inside.

Dont know whats wrong with aluminum. Thats why I thought I'd ask before I somehow melt an aluminum gasket to my oil pan.

Changed the oil and found that the PO (i just bought the car) didn't even put the washer in at all. So ran to the store and bought a copper washer that was identical to the aluminum one the store computer recommended.

        Thanks for the help guys.
