replacing the top - suggestions

I'm about to have the rag top replaced on the vert for the 1st time.
Besides the top is there any other parts I should replace while I'm at it?
Any other suggestions welcome.

what year is the car? Power top? Does it work well? If not this would be a good time to convert to manual.
Also replace the straps(long black lines that run through the bottom of the top. They should be elastic but in time they just go bad).
Who is doing it? Have they done a e30 top before? Make sure they pay attention to the shims, it will help them align it properly when done.
Oh lastly, the seals(where the top meets the windows and the top of windshield.

91 M42, current top is manual.

Right on Blue Devil, that's the kind of thing I was wondering about. The seals and the straps. This is looking like a big expense already.

I'm not sure who is going to do it yet, but I want to buy all the parts to be replaced.
