    Help with 318ti clutch issue?

Sorry if this is the wrong area to post, if so mods, please move. Thanks!

Hey guys, so I know it's not an E30 but my 318ti DD was acting up tonight on my way home from work and I was wondering if y'all had some imput. When I would let the clutch out from a stop the car would shudder really hard untill I let the clutch all the way out. If I gave the car more gas than usual when letting the clutch out it wouldn't happen, and it only happens when shifting into 1st gear from a stop. Any thoughts? Thanks guys

also, car has 70K miles on it and is a 1999 car with an M44. I dont have any records from the PO (also the original owner) showing the clutch has been changed but he also didnt have complete records. Does it seem likely that the clutch is original, and starting to fail?

      Throw out bearing, perhaps?

Any oil on the ground? A leaking rear main or input shaft could cause a lot of clutch chatter
