Looks like you couldn't afford the paint of the rest of the car.

Not that I couldn't afford it, I didn't want to spend the money on a car that would be in a high school parking lot for the next two years as teenagers are hell on paint! The car has since had two vehicles back into various places with no one fessing up as in hit and run. A teenager does not deserve new paint! Either way I thought the black vinyl and black bumpers gave the car a pretty good look.
