I'm sure it looks a lot worse than it actually is. I don't think there's reason to panic and think you have to trash the interior or sell the car because of it. A couple years ago when my neighbor burned down my apartment complex, the fire dept completely flooded my duplex and turned it into a swimming pool. The water line was at 4ft. All my families belongings and my spare e30 parts like leather sport seats all were covered with the same type of mold from being soaked. So I have a bit of experience with this to say the least.
What kills it is sunlight, and a spray bottle of 91% isopropyl alcohol or Acetone. That will quickly dissolve it, then you just wipe it off, and let it sit out in the sun. It's not that big of a deal
You should be able to easily remove it off the exterior surfaces. Personally I'd pull the carpet and make sure that's nice and dry, and also, like has been said before, make sure your HVAC system is clean so you don't breath it in the future.
Look at how stupid I am: Moldy Interior

Wow, I can't believe so many people are suggesting you junk everything.
That stage is easily recoverable from - long story short, find a company that deals in crime scene recovery and give them a call. They'll have that clean in 30 mins / an hour tops.Leave a comment:

I have an entire interior minus carpet in the early model light tan color. Also have two passenger side sport seats that are pretty rough, but work. I'm a bit far away, but would be willing to donate them to you due to your misfortune. PM me if you want it.Leave a comment:

Just wipe it all off and drive with the heater on for a bit. Then sell it on craigslist.Leave a comment:

sigh, you don't understand.
haha. Thanks man.
I wish!
Thanks.Dang. So sorry to see this happened.
Mold is SO dangerous.
I HIGHLY suggest you get rid of seats and carpet(Anything fabric). Trying to get the mold residue out of those will probably be pointless at this point. I'm sorry to say this but you NEED to take everything apart and use pure bleach on it. How does the inside of your trunk look?
Please be smart about how you go about this. Lung diseases aren't any fun and quite painful I'm sure. Good luck. :(
Eh, would rather toss it and replace I think. :|
Thanks, I am looking into that in the morning.
Yeah, looking into it.
My friend has one for bondo, I need to find out if the same filter works with mold. :?Leave a comment:

Try taking it to a detailer. You'd be surprised what they can take on. It could be cheaper than replacing everything.Leave a comment:
