I actually cleaned mold first hand on too many surfaces to count....

Water with a little bleach..Do not use direct bleach its a waste.

The Bleach kills it and then its all about the elbow grease from there to remove the stains.....I'd say find some heavy duty cleaner that you can really not be afraid to scrub into the interior surfaces after you do a good bleach cleaning...

good luck man..personally I wouldn't do any work either with out a good sealed face mask....that stuff can get you sick

    But gross.
Buy a cheap late model, like a 318i or 318is, and get crackin.
You can honestly get a cheap, straight one for under a G, and daily it.
I would love to, when I find teh right one. I really need the e30 back and don't have time to find the right shell.

Thanks everyone for the kindness (r3v, really?!).

I made a little progress today, the interior was so wet, and a lot of the foam nad mold growing into it, so I went ahead and cut / rippped /pulled the carpet out, and yanked the seats and door cards. Pretty much gutting it.

Rennsport and AlpienWeiss hooked up me with some seats/doorcards today (thanks again guys!). So even if it's a little rough around teh edges it isn't moldy, I'm going to go ahead and put that stuff in once it's cleaned up better.

    Some more pics:

Looks like a fat kid got his greasy fingerprints all over the car and then it turned to mold.

hrm....just an idea. 'leech' some kind of anti-microbial agent into the hvac inlet ports with the hvac blower on high. Maybe like spray lysol into the hvac grills outside your windshield while the fan is turned on high

i don't know about the inside, past the filter though

maybe lysol into the vents then through with an air compressor or leaf blower...dunno random ideas while sitting in class

mold's not really bad for you... and as a detailer I have seen and cleaned many moldy interiors. It's not hard at all, just get a good cleaner and go to town.

i had an e30 mold while sitting in my driveway. my 87 325is did the exact same thing, it had a clogged sunroof drain. it also had spun 2 rod bearings, and was going to be parted out because it had rust issues.

destroyed my m-tech 1 wheel, and a full black sport interior. i was less than pleased.

You need to call this guy.

Seriously though, that's nuts! I am horrified by those pics! We pulled an e30 out of a swamp and it wasn't even that bad! just the torn up cloth seats were moldy-ish. Replaced. I thought you'd left the roof open while it snowed in that first pic.

GL to you! I'd strip what I could w/out disturbing the mold and go from there.

A couple years ago when my neighbor burned down my apartment complex, the fire dept completely flooded my duplex and turned it into a swimming pool. The water line was at 4ft. All my families belongings and my spare e30 parts like leather sport seats all were covered with the same type of mold from being soaked. So I have a bit of experience with this to say the least.

What kills it is sunlight, and a spray bottle of 91% isopropyl alcohol or Acetone. That will quickly dissolve it, then you just wipe it off, and let it sit out in the sun. It's not that big of a deal

You should be able to easily remove it off the exterior surfaces. Personally I'd pull the carpet and make sure that's nice and dry, and also, like has been said before, make sure your HVAC system is clean so you don't breath it in the future.

Thanks for the advice. Any tips to clean the HVAC system? I'd rather not tear apart the whole dash...
