    dropping oil pan

just a quick question for you guys:
i've removed the bolts holding the lower oil pan to my m42, but it wont come off. its pressed on there pretty tight.
tried 'excessive tapping' but it wont come off.
    any ideas? :D

Are you sure you removed ALL the bolts? If so, you could pry it carefully with a flathead screwdriver.

yeah, ive got all the bolts off.
there literally is no space between the pan above.
hammer, and various other things wont pry it off.
i've counted all 14 bolts from underneath, they're all off.

That's to drop the whole oilpan, he's dropping the bottom portion.

hard to tell from that pic but i would guess part of the timing chain guide rails... they just love to break into little bits as time goes on.
