    Power drain from speaker?

Just as I put in a $500 parts order to bavauto for my m20 rebuild, my e36 started acting up this week, fml. I work from home so I only drive my e36 a few times a week at best. The last week, I've noticed my battery is dead every 2-3 days. The battery is new, the alternator was checked and found good.

Tonight, I noticed that one of my rear speakers kept making popping noises even though the stereo was turned off. It appears that the speaker connections were contacting the metal frame of the car. So even with the car off it was grounding to the body. Does this sound like a viable explanation for why I'm getting a slow power drain? I can't think of anything else.

I unplugged and removed the speaker tonight so I'm curious to find out if that helped at all.

Sounds like that it is the culprit. Let us know if that was the cause.

You might wanna disconnect that factory amp too if you had popping with the deck off

It started up a little rough today but much better the recent times (ie the day after recharging the battery).

Luke I disconnected the amp as well. Thanks for the advice!
