To add to this thread, I am also a stupid driving teenager..sometimes at least. I've definately learned from the mistakes my friends have made (totalled cars left and right), but I do like to whip my back end out when it's safe to. My local park has a nice road and it's dominated by my tire marks. Only once in a blue moon though. I can't afford to hurt anyone, or anymore tickets ;)

I remember the first time I got my E30 running and I asked myself "Ok, what's all this good handeling everyone's talking about that this car has?" Took it around a turn faster and faster, then eventually broke loose. First time driving a RWD car. I got extremely nervous I was going to spin out, but as soon as I countersteered it was the biggest smile on my face. I got out of my car shaking hahaha.

Terrible idea.. Definitely do some autocrosses, much safer way to learn to drive. I used to think I could drive when I was younger but when I went out to my first auto-x I realized I couldn't.

I would say the best way is hit an empty parking lot like at 2am and practice there. Drifting in public roads is always a dumb choice especially in Cali (coming from the guy that has 6k in california tickets) trust me.
