There are tons of guys are here running swapped E30s! There's an entire subforum dedicated to 24V swaps! I'd say the swap, while admittedly not cheap, has been documented pretty thoroughly...

yeah ive seen plenty of swapped e30s just not so many swapped ix's i need a 100% reliable bmw and while im sure id be fine swapping my engine out there is not to much documentation on my particular car. the ix has a different drive train which makes swapping alot harder. i dont want to be breaking down and not having any help aside from my mechanic. also bluntech makes a great point that once my car is fully refresh it will run like a champ. but the cost to get there concerns me, and where that number lies could mean i could get a much nicer new faster car.

i dont want to sell my ix i love it but i want some thing i can at least smoke some civics from time to time.
