The only person that wheel locks will stop is you when you get a flat tire.

All you clowns are missing the OP's point or question.

He's looking for extended length locking lugbolts.

OP they are available and I've run several sets in the past and still have 1 set currently.
Also they make those factory and aftermarket locks that snap over your stock 17mm bolt head.

Thank you, as for everyone else, I do park my car in well lit areas, durin the day an most nights it is inside my locked garage but I feel that having something is better than nothing at all. Even if it is just false hope.

FYI yes I know about the wheel lock removal kit from snap on works awesome, how do I know, I actually own it, I used to work in the field.

              Thanks again Diego

I could get those off with my handy dandy lug nut remover. http://buy1.snapon.com/catalog/item....&group_ID=1652

With cheap impact guns everywhere wheels are never really 'safe'. You could always convert to centerlock wheels...

oh FYI fun fact about that kit after about 2-3 uses of the socket they are no longer sharp enough to get a bite on the wheel lock so you have to give it to your snap on guy. I am on my 3rd socket already.

Or you can slam your car so low that they can't even fit the jack under the car.

Great advice on only parking your car in well-lit areas....because the entire world has well-lit parking lots conveniently located next to everything.

I ran OEM BMW lug bolts that came off an E65 on my MKIV VW GTI for about 3 years with no problems. I'll try to find a pic of them, but they filled nearly the entire lug-bolt hole (BBS CH) and had a raised center, to prevent theft.

I agree there is no perfect solution, but having a peace of mind for $100 is worth it, IMHO

1: you can't fit a jack under my car unless you drive it on blocks

It's not always an option but often if your willing to look it often is. I often work late so I pay the garage extra monthly to have a parking space that's only a few hundred feet from the hospital, covered, well lit and has a security patrol in the lot. At home I park in the garage with the alarm on. If I go to the airport I take a town car/cab so as to not have my car be a sitting duck in long term parking. A lot of my car's security is based on planning, being aware of my surroundings, and having decent insurance in case the worst does happen.
