Suggestions?

Hi, I'm brand new to this forum and it seems to be a great community to get good advice. I am about to purchase my first e30. ( Been driving a automatic Camry for too long ) I'm getting it manual and most likely a 318, to strictly save gas. Now that the introduction is complete, i have two e30s that i am interested in to start my "project"

This one seems okay but is a bit sketchy that the odometer is broken.

this is the one i am most interested in. He said he will go as low as 1000.

My questions to you:
- Which would you prefer?
- 318 or 325. ( i am a college student and drive a lot )

depends on what the plans are for it.
318 is lighter, so you can throw the m50 in there and fly.
or keep the m20 in the 325 and do a lil work and be happy.

if you don't want to do any work, then go for the 325.

broken odometer...meh oh well. check it out though, drive it around, if you buy it do good amount of preventive maintenance.

i'd go for the one in LA though, has rims and a working odo lol.

I'm going to go check out the la tomorrow. I intend to change the front bump completely, push the metal bumpers back for the rear one, take out the spoiler, and about a month later get a new paint job. Hopefully the car has no engine problems tho.

And i do intend to do work on it but i don't know about swapping engines. I need a 318 because i drive 30 min for my college

you don't need a 318, you need to control yourself!
if you dont take off at everylight and do drive sensible you will get 25-30mpg.

when i race around and act like a hooligan, i get 20-25 at best, but im also at redline A LOT!

m42 would be good for a turbo build! you could also gear it to make it accel. faster.

yeah tuck them bupers and paint them body color or trim black color.

That is true. I mean i am open to 325s obviously, i just found these two 318s and they almost seem like a steal.
