You casually drift into the left lane in anticipation of the pass, since the car you are overtaking is only doing 50-55mph. Right before you pass the other vehicle, I mean RIGHT BEFORE, LIKE 15 FEET BEFORE overtaking the vehicle. The other driver quickly moves into you lane. You stand on the brakes, dive to the left into the warning track and try to stay out of the median. After you control the decent to 50mph without contacting the other vehicle you become aware of why.
The other vehicle decided to pull into your(85mph) path to yield to a vehicle moving down the onramp at 45mph. The person actually doesn't look just assumes they are the only person in that space. The whole eastern seaboard does this.

    2. You are proceeding down an on ramp. looking over your left shoulder at the traffic below. Adjusting your speed to 55-65mph to fit into the flow of traffic when you reach the bottom. Look ahead, look over shoulder, great found a space and my speed is right, look forward, SOME IDIOT IS STOPPED AT THE BOTTOM OF THE RAMP! The sign says yield not STOP and cause and accident!!!! Worst area for this is Charlotte, NC.

    3. You are in the city with a 5 lane avenue. You pull into the turn lane and signal for a left turn. about 3 car lenghts in front of you is another car with the left blinker on. You pause trying to figure out where they intend to turn and have no clue. they are 4 car lengths past the point of entry to the left. Then oncoming traffic clears and you start your turn. About 1/2way across the lanes you notice the car that was WAY past the entry is trying to make a 140' turn into the same drive. WTF is with this. The whole time since I recieved my license I was never able to figure this out. Then I lived in florida for a few years and found out why. Almost all florida roads have the yellow stripes curve left at the end of the road to allow traffic to spread out and make 2-3 lanes in the last 20-30 feet (florida panhandle atleast). Think of a funnel with the line making the entry one lane wide, and the exit 3-4 lanes wide. I guess it is thier road engineering??? So beware florida tags tend to go past the logical point of entry due to training, I used to think they were just stupid and old.

    your turn.

To resurrect a thread from the grave, one of my driving pet peeves is people that drive in well-lit suburban areas with their brights one. Worst of all is when they are in the left turn lane with the lights right at you. Tonight, as I turn out of my neighborhood and head toward a light, I see an idiot with their brights on. I flash my lights and then leave them on, but they are obvious. The light turns green, and as the car turns in front of me I realized its a clean 4-door 325e that I've seen around. How do you say "nice car" when you've already flashed your lights at someone off?

          MY TOP 3:
          1. People with handicapped plates driving like idiots. (I mean really, either you or one of your passengers are a little bit messed up medically, don't you think you should be a little more careful on the road? You already get the closest spot to everything, so take your time effing getting there, you know?)
          2. NC road block: Two cars on a two lane road who pace each other for miles.
          3. Bikes with straight pipes. How unfair is that? If I ran straight pipes, (which would be AWESOME, but annoying) I would probably get pulled over, arrested, and my car would get towed. Bikers do it all day long.

People that drive slow in the passing lane, people that speed up when you try to pass them and people that drive in the middle of a 2 lane road.

The other day I was driving my M3 through a subdivision at night doing 35 in a 30 when a camry gets right up on my ass and won't let up. It really starts to piss me off so I slow down to about 25 just to piss mr. camry off somemore.
I then see about 200ft ahead that there is a trash can in the middle of the road and an idea pops in my head :D . I know that theres no way the camry behind me can see this trash can since he's so damn close to my car, and just to make sure I shut off my low beams to make it harder to see(yet I can still see it with the street lights) and then speed up to about 40, the camry speeds up with me and continues to stay on my ass. I then knew I had him hooked.
I head straight for the trash can like its not even there but at the last possible second swerve around it, just missing it, but the camry behind me nails it head on!!!!

Maybe he learned something from that.

You are my new hero.... even my girlfriend was like, " man that is bad ass."

I hate tailgaters...they are all over the south.
