    recycling engine parts

    I have 6 crankshafts that are taking up space, i asked a local recycling place if they would give me any money and they said with car stuff, specifically engines they just accept them and dont give any money for it. Total they end up around 300 lbs of steel....they have to be worth something to a metal recycler to pay out...right?
    I have a bunch of aluminum and it always pays well, just hard to imagine steel is worthless.

    I think steel is like 8 cents a pound in my area

      unless you have over a ton of scrap don't expect to get much. you would probable make a better profit turning them into bar stools.
