    These wheels are black not

(title is to be said in Borat voice)

    But really-

Okay so I got my centers powdercoated so they could go on my car, and I just don't know how to feel about them. I usually absolutely hate black wheels and the lack of contrast they give.

Centers were supposed to be 'solar rain', kinda like a black chrome, but me and my friend were having a hard time shooting the candy coat on top so all the centers match- and they eventually turned out kinda... black. A super deep glossy black that has a hint of gray (like it was supposed to be).

What do you think? Black centers a no no, reshoot them?

I vote re-spray. Some wheels look okay black, but bbs's aren't one of those wheels.

I'm leaning heavily towards this too. Unfortunately the issue is that I wouldn't be able to strip them and we'd have to powdercoat over the existing finish :/

I think the black looks good, but straight silver would make a world of difference. More maintenance, though.

i think that black centers on style 5s make them look like knock-offs as well as making the wheel look 1 size smaller than it is.

Yeah i'd go with silver. Unless you want something darker, a darker silver might look pretty good.

And black usually makes the centers look smaller, respray white...

Most powder finishes can be removed with aircraft coating remover. Ive done it many times.

                            Chrome plated?

I've been considering this for mine as well, not quite the same look as polished, but close, and not anywhere near the maintenance.

lol, chrome plated centers would be at least $400, if not more.

I'm only $60 into powdercoating cost for all four centers.

Not that they look bad.... but fuck, I wish they were a medium reflective gray as I hoped for them to be.

And definite no to white. You try cleaning BMW brakedust every 2 days, lol
