don't include an emoticon in a url. 215 at the wheels seems about right-- US version of S50B30 but down about 240.

something doesn't seem right here....
215 does seem low?! Consider the accepted 15% loss, that would put the horsepower number right at 247 hp. So you're saying a fresh rebuild, adding a 3.5 HFM, TMS headers, Intake and Conforti Software is only good for 7 hp? There's no way.
Using the same loss calculations for the the torque value, this means that 222tq is the peak torque? Factory peak torque is rated at 225 ft/lbs on the S50. So again, all those mods didn't make a bit of difference?!
Either the dyno is off, tune is whacked, the handbrake is on or the exhaust is like a straw. I just don't get it.'87 325ic, powered by S50.

Not sure about the dyno, could be off. He has conforti software, to
My knowlege they are supposed to be very good, the only thing the dyno dude said was it was running kinda rich during the run, he suggested an adjustable fuel pressure regulator may add a but more. The one thing I will say is the motor feels very healthy and strong.
At the very most both number could be off no more than 10, I have spent the last hour reading dyno specs for e36 m3s, there's a ton of results on there and there's no one over 230 rwhp with similar mods. The motor has less than 1000 miles, I figure after 5k it might wear in a bit and put a bit more down.Last edited by rabbitude; 04-11-2011, 07:44 PM.

Conforti tune is ok at best, TRM has better numbers from their OBD I chip, the car has a 3.5" maf and shortie headers with a fresh build. Most likely it's chocked by exhaust using obd I mid section or?
I say they are low should be 225rwhp with those mods. Injectors? No mention of them and is the chip tuned for the proper maf?

Damn, I made 260/244 rwhp/tq out of my s50 with basic bolt ons.

Dyno numbers are completely useless without another similar motor on the same dyno to compare against. You have no idea how that dyno is calibrated so the numbers are meaningless, just make sure your A/F is good.
My s50 with 3.5inch hfm, ebay headers, PS delete, AC delete, tune, stock injectors (maybe forgetting something, it has all the boltons besides cams) put down 225rwhp. The dyno shop said that stock s50's consistently put down 200-205rwhp, and an m54 with some minor stuff down put down around 215-220 right before I went on.
Point is, you need a car to compare to, you can't just say the number seems low.
