Body is very clean and has 121k miles on it
It has a swap from a 94 325is (m50 2.5 liter motor w/ Vanos and tranny) unkown milleage
The motor needs a head gasket and the tach and temp gauge dont work (this could be fixed with a treehouse racing m50 jumper harness)
the swap was performed at a shop in ____.

HIS STORY:
he bought it with intentions of s50 swap to autocross with, he is in the millitary being sent to guantanamo for "sentry" duty. says he can only store one car and the other is a e36 m3...

only red flag i see is then why the hell is he trading if he can only store on car? idk...i've been txting him and it seems legit. i was planning on heading down to ____ next week and doing the trade. he seem to know a whole lot about bimmers, sorta like he has been into them forever but newish to e30 scene, he said he spent a lot of timing searching for one, sad he has to part with it...

also, im not disclosing where i found the car or where it is located, i've been on the hunt, not about to get snaked, so...if anyone wants to voice opinions it'd be great!

new details, m50 needs headgasket, the guy said it leaks from exhaust side...says its not cracked from visual inspection...?

It's very hard to see if the head has a crack in it by visual inspection.

Doesnt look bad. Im not a fan of 4-doors, but absolutely hate automatics.

why trade a perfectly good running car for a blown m50 car? which is a pita to do the head gasket. Especially if you are not mechanically sound. there are plenty of good ones out there or find one with a blown motor then do replace/swap. I got my clean vert for a grand with startecs bilstiens h&r races thr cabs new tires plus it is clean zero rust and a 5spd! now it has an m50 which didn't cost that much or take that much time to swap and I couldn't be happier. my wheels cost as much as the car lol... just saying man sometimes it's better to find something that is a good base and build from there rather than something that already has everything done. seems like he dogged the engine and now wants to unload it...

I agree with the above posters: you could stick that money into your car and individualize it to whatever standards you have. Ultimately, you could make your car better than that for the money you'd give him on top.
