    Motor Swap/Turbo Time Frame?

I've read through countless turbo, motor swap, etc threads, and they all seem to carry on for months to year(s) I'd like to know the basic break down of time that should be allotted to each project. I'm debating between:

    -S52
-Turbo M20 (already have a free hx35 soooo...)
    -LS1
    -M60
-Ford 5.0 (never seen one documented and completed)

From start to finish, how long do you think it would take for each one of these set ups to be complete and back on the road? I know there are different variables to be taken into consideration (work, family, school, etc) but just give me a general idea. I'd ideally like to do an M60 or even a LS1 but I don't have a year or two at my disposal.

Also, how comprehensive is Garrett and Steve's LS1 manual? They seem to be a very articulate and pay attention to detail, but aside from "The Blue Lagoon" has anyone gone forward with this? Any reviews or feedback?

-S52- 20-30 man hours, swaps take so long because of all the little things that come up, (missing sensors, brackets, custom parts ect...)
-Turbo M20- 100+ hours if done right, can be done in 20 if you cut corners and just want boost...

Wow, I had no idea the S52's were that easy compared to turboing. I've easily spent more than 30 hours just reading about them, actually turning wrenches wouldn't be a problem. Thank for the insight man.

lol at this bc it's true. SEC can be a bitch if you don't know what you're doing. Don't even contemplate a Turbo M20 without it. TCD makes a very nice kit. My buddy has a stage II and can't seem to stop blowing headgaskets at 18psi & improper tuning. :/

I installed all the hardware for my turbo in a weekend. Installing Megasquirt hardware took about 4 days for everything to be right, plus building the unit. Getting it running perfectly NA took about 6 months (no dyno) and I'm still tuning it with the turbo, although it is done except for the idle finalizing timing. Its all in the details, and the details take time.
